Patricia Phillips

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Pat Phillips, a dear member of our community and a key figure in the rural property and farm sales industry. Alongside her husband Charles, Pat was an integral part of the highly successful partnership of “Charles R Phillips,” a well-regarded property and farm sales dispersal business based in Henley-in-Arden during the 1980s and 1990s. Their business thrived before being sold to Midland Marts, which later became part of the Sun Alliance Group.

In 1995, Charles left the corporate world to join Howkins & Harrison, and together with Pat, they brought their remarkable expertise and passion to our team. Pat and Charles shared a special bond, having been together for 30 years before announcing their marriage after a private ceremony at Gretna Green, during a dinner party at our home.

The Henley office, where they played a pivotal role, thrived under their guidance. Sadly, Charles was later diagnosed with a brain tumour, and passed away in 2001. Despite this sadness, Pat’s strength, dedication, and cherished relationships within the rural community continued to be a tremendous asset to us. She remained with Howkins & Harrison until her well-deserved retirement in 2023 at the age of 80, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, kindness, and unwavering commitment.

Pat’s warmth and work ethic were admired by everyone who knew her. As I recently shared, “When Pat and Charles joined H&H, the atmosphere they created, full of enthusiasm, dedication, and team spirit, was something I wished we could bottle up and spread across all our offices.” Pat was deeply respected and valued by all who had the privilege of working with her. She will be dearly missed.
